Be Bold for Change

“Courage is like a muscle. We strengthen it by use.” ~ Ruth Gordo

Women’s rights and the fight for equality is a struggle that women are all too familiar with. Reminders of inequality are everywhere, from the news/movies we watch, the stories we hear, and our own experiences. It’s too easy to focus on the negative, we have a long road ahead, and that gender gap is as real as ever. It’s important to keep pushing forward, but it’s also good to look back and celebrate accomplishments, no matter the size.

So, in honour of International Women’s Day, I want to acknowledge ALL the women I know that were courageous this past year. Don’t be so modest, you know who you are! You stood up for yourself. You chased your dreams. You called out personal and professional injustices. You juggled responsibilities like a boss. You dared to ask for more and you remained true to yourself.

Bit by bit, your actions change the backwards opinions of others. You challenge the status quo and inspire others to take action too. Thank you for your strength, wisdom, guidance, example, and your support.

Yes, the struggle is still real, but we are stronger, we are vocal and we will make bigger and better strides. Together we make this world a better place for ourselves and the future generation.

“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” ~ Alice Walker
We have so much more to give, we have the power, so let’s continue to use it. Be bold! 🙌
